MvC Origins Character Profiles – Gambit, Magneto, Psylocke

Once again Marvel is bringing the heat with the MvC Origins madness. This past Tuesday Gambit, Magneto, and Psylocke starred in their very own feature written by yours truly. I never played much of Marvel Super Heroes, so I can’t comment on Magneto or Psylocke, but I did play the crap out of MvC on PlayStation and thus got to control the Ragin’ Cajun.

I think that Gambit had some of the most stylish animations out of any of the assembled fighters and Cajun Explosion and Royal Flush just looked so dang cool! For those of you in the know, how many animations did Capcom end up reusing from X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse? I know Cyclops, Wolverine, Gambit, and Cyclops were in the game, did they recycle those sprites? Lemme know, and without further ado – the profiles!

  1. I heart me some Psylocke. I’m wondering, though, in your profile of her, are you being a purist because you don’t mention her telekinesis, psi-bolts, or psychic blades (which are totally sweet)? Apparently there was some shark jumping in her acquisition of some of those abilities that I know very little about…

    1. YOOOOOOO – Nah I’m not skipping over anything on purpose but as you can see I don’t go too much into their abilities at all. Just a quick bio, give you a gist of their history. She had some undetermined psychic abilities which have been refined throughout the years. While she was an assassin with the Hand she gained her psychic knife and (maybe) telekinetic katana? She lost her TK imprisoning the Shadow King, got Phoenix’s telepathy at some point, and I think the Crimson Dawn gave her some new powers? When you said psi-bolts, couldn’t that just be TK or telepathy?
